We do not know the usage implied in using iMessage since it is not one of your services. 

Anyone in the community has an idea?

If you send and recieve text only, it does not cost too much data, data cost should be very close to this: 

 1KB = 1 kilobytes = 1024 letters. 

But if you send or recieve pictures, it will use much more data, depends on the quality and size of your picture, one picture may use from 100KB to 10MB data or even more.
