I currently have a 2GB plan which fido charges me 45$ for. I just recently renewed and upgraded to a new phone along with a 2 year commitment. Now I see that there's plan with 4GB for the same exact price 45$. As a long time loyal customer why was I not offered this plan????

Welcome to the community!
Promotion changes all the time if you did the upgrade through self-serve on fido.ca you also had the option to change your plan if needed.
You can always change your plan at any time providing you stay in the same plan category (for example Data, Talk & Text to Data, Talk & Text).
