I am running at custom DNS that blocks ads on my phone. Will it cause me to incur roaming charges when placing calls with WiFi calling?

Hello @Criteria5893,
No, it will not, The DNS does not change your IP it remains the same, I use a a customer DNS for ad blocking on my WiFi network and also directly on my device when I'm off my home WiFi.

My concern is just this note about DNS in this FAQ:
https://www.fido.ca/support/mobility/wi-fi-calling#how-is-wi-fi-calling-rated-while-in-canada-
Where is your DNS server located?

Hello @Criteria5893, I understand your concern regarding the FAQ. While DNS can change geolocation for certain apps, your ISP tracks you by the IP address. I would assume that Fido included DNS to cover themselves. Personally, I use AdGuard's DNS directly on my mobile to block ads, and it's configured directly in my home router to filter ads and adult content on my entire network. However, I'm not sure about the locations of their servers. I've been using this setup for many years without any issues with WiFi calling. In fact, I seldom use my ISP's DNS on my home setup.
