Hello everyone,

I just checked my Fido bill and noticed a $12 charge for roaming outside of Canada. The thing is, I haven't stepped foot in the states at all. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to get this resolved?

Thanks!

Quite absurd the more I think about it. Say this was an error where a cell tower bounced off my phone in the States and thus changed me if that's the case I might have to seek the CRTC.

but hopefully, they could reimburse me

Hey @Notsky! It is possible when you're near the border that your Fido SIM card picks up a signal from the US, In that case it may trigger accidental roaming fees. We will definitely be able to investigate that further with you and adjust the fees if that's the case. Please, feel free to contact us so we can assist you.

Hey @FidoNajat,

Thanks for the response. However, I was in the center of Vancouver when I received this charge. It's highly unlikely that my phone would connect to a US cell tower from there.

This $12 roaming fee seems unreasonable given my location. What would people say about getting charged while in a major metropolitan area just to be charged for roaming fees?

But i will contact support
