When I signed up using the chat system, I was told that the activation fee would be waived. I received my SIM card today, and activated my account. When I went on to check it, it's showing that I have an activation fee.
Also, My old phone number was supposed to be ported over to the new account, but my account shows a different number.

I think there a big mistake in your account, and things should be fixed. Fido can credit your activation fee. Normally a big company like Fido keeps chats logs with a rep. So you just need to chat with Fido and your charges will be waived.
