I am inundated with calls that leave messages in what seems to be Chinese? Do I have to change my phone number or carrier to make this stop because this has gotten completely out of hand !

Unfortunately, no one or carrier is immune to these spam calls, at this time we can not stop it but the carriers are working to implement newer technology (STIR/SHAKEN) by September 2020 to combat these spam calls.

So, when the call starts by saying, "This is Fido Chinese language . . . ", is that just a lie? Someone phishing or imitating Fido?
I get these calls at least once a week and they are a bother!
Those calls aren't from us, and they are fraudulent phone calls. We do suggest you hang up and block the numbers via your phone settings.
On our end, similar to other providers, we are working hard along with the CRTC and industry partners in order to block these types of calls. Keep in mind that they do often dial random numbers and often spoof their call displays so it can be a little tricky. We're aware and working on it though
