Upgrade phone only not plan but give upgraded phone to another family member

I want to take adavantge of an offer to upgrade my phone with a new two year agreement , when I get the phone I want another famil member to use that phone and I will continue to use my existing phone . Will this be possible .?
My other family member already has a plan with another carrier.

Will this senaario work out. Does FIDO force the user to use the new phone they just ordered
Will they send out a new SIM that must be used with the upgraded phone?

Hello @Jawahar , if you want to upgrade your device and then give it away, it's totally up to you. You will still have to pay your monthly agreement for the 24 months. Yes, all new devices do ship with a new Sim card, but you are not required to use it. Your friend only has to put their Sim card in the new phone and it will work as they all come unlocked. So, just remember that you are responsible for the financed amount. Good to go
