Texting in Europe on pre-paid plans

I am travelling to Greece and Italy this summer and would like to be able to text home to Canada. I am on a prepaid plan ($100/year). When I looked up fido roaming information it appears that it would cost me .75/text.....is this correct? And does that count for out-going and in-coming texts, or only the ones I'm sending?

  Welcome to the community!

  Yes, sending a SMS message would cost 75¢ per message when roaming with a prepaid plan in Europe (see here). Receiving SMS would not incur roaming charges. You should note that sending/receiving MMS would not be possible with a prepaid plan as roaming data is not available with those plans.
