Texting from/to Japan (Fido Prepaid)

Hello, I have  Fido Prepaid account and I am planinng to stay in Japan for a while.

Can I get text message sent to this phone from Canada in Japan?

And I I send text message to Canada from there using this phone?

Hello Ryocchin,

  As far as I am aware, pre-paid plans should be able to roam in Japan. These should be the pay-per-use rates:

  While you should be able to send/receive SMS, you should note you won't likley be able to send/receive MMS since roaming data is not available.

  In addition, you would need to ensure your device is compatible with the local networks. If your device does not have bands/frequencies compatible with the local networks, you will not be able to use Fido services.

Hi there @ryocchin , I'm not sure if you are able to roam on a prepaid plan. I suggest you contact Fido customer support here and inquire with the experts. I, personally like to use fidosolutions on Twitter to be able to correspond with a customer service representative by direct message. Hope it gives you the answer you need, cheers
