Text messages travelling up north

Hello.

I've been travelling up in Northern Nunavut in Pond Inlet.  My phone picked up the local network here and calls and data have worked great.  I have noticed that plain text messages don't seem to come in time though.  Occasionally they come a few days later.  This is pretty useless for 2 factor authentication.  I have no problems with data based messaging systems.

I've been told that this is a known Rogers/Fido problem that doesn't happen with other providers - but can't find anything online.  Is this a thing?  Is there a fix of some sort?  I'd like to have a working text-message-capable phone for the next time I return.

Thanks.

Hi there @BBBB123 , I would suggest that you contact Fido technical support to see if you can solve your issue together. I used to have intermittent problems with my Samsung s10e and I solved it by installing Google Messages and turning on chat in the settings. Don't know if it will work for you but it's worth a try.
