Does the daily roaming charge cover video sent as well?


Hi @U21 , the daily roaming charge will allow you to use your device as you can at home. If you have a data plan and can send video at home, then yes you can send video.

thx... another question has just popped up....why did i get a text from Fido stating "Welcome to the U.S." and i'm not there, have not been home...and i did not turn roaming on at all ..

  Welcome to the community!


  I understand how surprising it is to receive a roaming notification when you haven't even left Canada. Fido is supposed to have an accidental roaming solution in place for those who live or travel to areas near the US border (see here and here). It's possible that particular US cellular tower has not yet been identified as problematic. You should note that merely receiving that notificaiton does not necessarily mean you've incurred roaming charges, only that your device connected to a US tower. You would need to discuss the matter with customer service so they might identify that location as an issue. In addition, they can also be contacted via Live Chat, Facebook, or Twitter.   You should also note that most modern devices do not have a setting to disable roaming altogether. While they do often have settings to disable roaming data, that setting does not disable roaming for voice and SMS messages.


  Generally, most devices would search for the strongest signal. Unfortunately, sometimes that might be one across the border in the US. You can prevent your device from connecting to US towers by manually selecting the Fido/Rogers network in your phone's settings.
