Really pissed off at the service

I had called in October 2023 to get my account cancelled. Fido did not process the request and kept charging until January 2024. 
Then I called in January 2024, they said they cannot see any request for cancelling the account. After a few couple of hours of calls, I paid off the balance even though I had not used any of their service and had requested the cancellation. They did confirm that they will take care of the credit reporting but now I see a Derogatory remark on my credit report.
I called back and they said they will give a release letter and will not file amendment. I have not recieved the letter yet. 

Really horrible service!
