Port Tablet plan number to Phone plan

Hello everyone,

I have a Tablet plan SIM which is used in my son's phone. He used the number occasionally for calls and texts. Now he needs to upgrade to a proper phone plan. I want to take advantage the deal of adding a new line. Does anyone know if I can port the existing number from FIDO tablet plan to a FIDO phone plan? My understanding is porting is normally for moving from another carrier.

Hey @Cagg

If you want to keep the same number, we would simply change the plan to a phone plan. However, since we'd be keeping the same line, you wouldn't qualify for the new activation promotions. If you want to get these promotions, you'd need to activate a new line with a new number. If you do that though, you wouldn't be able to keep the tablet number.
