Unpleasant Experience with Fido Phone Upgrade Process
I recently applied online to upgrade my phone as an existing FIDO customer, specifying a Pick-up Store for collection. Following the online application, I received an email from Fido with instructions to wait for the pickup email. Despite waiting for over a week without receiving the pickup email, I decided to contact Fido for clarification. To my surprise, the Fido representative informed me that my device had been canceled because I hadn't picked it up. When I explained that I was waiting for the pickup email and hadn't received it yet, the response was that it had already been canceled, and there was nothing they could do.
I inquired about why the pickup email hadn't been sent, and the response was that it was the responsibility of the pickup store, and Fido had no control over it. Isn't the Fido store a representative of Fido? The statement that mistakes at the Fido store are unrelated to Fido left me frustrated, but I held my composure. Subsequently, when I asked what could be done, the representative offered to place a new order for home delivery. However, they mistakenly placed the order for a different color. Upon discovering this, I promptly requested a correction. If I hadn't caught this mistake promptly, it could have led to further delays and significant time wasted.
I advise others not to go through a similar experience. After placing an order, it is essential to call the pickup center immediately to schedule the pickup and avoid unnecessary complications.
