Porting a landline number to a cell phone. Can this be done on fido network?

Hi figene7,

It's certainly possible to port a landline number to replace a mobile number. You can check if the number is eligible for porting by clicking here.

It's important to note that numbers used for faxes, data transmission, PBX numbers (private branch exchange) and Centrex numbers can be imported. If you have any services that require the use of that landline telephone number, such as a dial-up Internet connection, a remote alarm system, or various satellite dish services, you must ask these providers whether these services can function properly after we deactivate your home telephone service.

You also must be located in a region where phone number importing is allowed.

If your number can be transferred to a Fido, the transaction would be processed within seven working days.

In order to complete a transfer successfully, one of the following items is required from your old service provider:

- the account number
- the account password/PIN
- the handset ESN/IMEI number

I hope this helps
