Not receiving all texts

Last year I posted about not being able to receive and send all texts with the problem seeming to be with Android phones (and maybe those with Freedom as their carrier). I have an iPhone 7. It ended up being a back end issue with Fido's technical team seemingly fixing it after a few tries.

 

However, a new and similar problem is occurring...I'm not getting or able to participate in group texts where there are Android users. I'm also not getting some other texts too (such as from Microsoft when they are supposed to be sending me a requested login code). Sometimes I don't get pictures and emojis from Androids as well. 

 

Fido - please help!

Hey @Bluesky9,

 

That's a bit odd! Is your iPhone running the latest iOS version?

 

Can you also go into Settings - Messages and confirm if the following 2 options are ON:

 

- MMS Messaging

- Group Messaging

 

As for the short codes from Microsoft, only short codes that are approved by The Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA) can be received on your phone.

If the short code is part of it and you're still not able to receive it, let us know and we'll look into it further.
