Lost phone - blacklist IMEI

I recently lost my phone (July 28) but have since gotten a new Fido SIM to use with my old phone to get service in the meantime.

Looking to blacklist my lost phone's IMEI. I've contacted customer service through the Fido chat but the agent was certain that Fido does not do this and advised me to reach out to the phone's manufacturer (... Google..)?

Would appreciate any insight!

Hello @Cwjyung,

I am sorry to learn you were misinformed about this. We can blacklist the IMEI of lost device when the account holder requests it.

You can reach out to us through our Social Media channels(Facebook, instagram, X) and we'd be happy to help you with that.

Adding your IMEI to the blacklist means that participating Canadian mobile service providers won't let your lost device connect to their respective wireless networks.

If you end up finding your device, and need to remove it from the national blocklist, you need to be the device's original owner. These requests can take up to 24 hours.

Hope this helps!
