Firstly, the Fido Home phone is not a landline. While its intended use is to replace a home's landline, it is a wireless service.
Yes, the home phone includes voicemail, call waiting etc.

With regards to 9-1-1, it does provide emergency access. However, you should note:
'For important wireless 9-1-1 information, visit fido.ca/911. 9-1-1 calls are routed based on the wireless network's automatic location technology, but you may have to provide your home address to emergency responders. Fido recommends that you always have an alternative means of accessing 9-1-1 services from your home or business during a power or network outage.'
