Folks,

Very upset about the 1st bill charge.

I took the sim card in India , and activated on stores. In shop I asked them they said intial charge will be waived off as they mentioned on sim card which I took in India. They took my sim scan and activated in shop but they charged 57$. I raised this point with customer care and they said shop people did not mention of the India sim anything in comments. Also they did not tell anything about the intial setup charges and 1st bill has been charged now 😕

I did some Google research , they had refund for some people if they have taken from store as well. But myn got rejected for genuine case as well. Not expected from Fido service.

Hello Adithya101,

  Welcome to the community!

Sorry to hear your activation fees were not waived as expected. Generally, the activation fees are charged when services are activated with the assistance of customer service (in-store or via customer service). The activation fees are waived when purchases are made online via Fido.ca. That said, there have been promotions where the activation fees have also been waived in-stores. Those promotions would likely have been store-specific, though.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure how many people are aware of the sale of Fido SIMs in India. There might have been a special procedure for activation? You should note this forum is community-driven and not intended as a venue for customer services. We would not have access to any account information. If you would like assistance with the matter, you would need to contact customer service. In addition, they can also be contacted via Live Chat, Facebook, or Twitter. Those methods can be accessed via the contact page posted above.

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers
