Fido Referral benefit not credited

I was referred by my friend and I am new to canada and I (referee) did not transfer existing number from any provider but bought a new connection from FIDO on 1st May, however I later changed the phone number using fido online service.

Upon complaining about missing referral reward I was told that "if a referee submits the temporary Fido phone number, the award for both referrer and referee will not be authorised."
I'm unable to understand how does changing the phone number which is one of the services provided by Fido makes me ineligible for the referral.

To clarify, when a phone number is changed, the temporary number appears in the system as cancelled and this makes it impossible for the credit to be applied.


As explained here, if you change your number, you'll need to have the number updated in your Fido Refer A Friend profile to continue to be eligible for the rewards.
You can contact the Fido Refer A Friend Program support team to have your profile updated.
