opening a port for my internal wifi network

How can I open Port 8080 for my internal network on my new Fido Home Internet modem/router? I need it to transfer ebooks from my Calibre files to my tablet's fbReader files. Nothing else works as easily.

Still working on that specific port for that specific application ... In between taking care of my partner, disabled, and keeping ahead of our pet wrecking machines (cats).
