Updates are pushed automatically to your modem, we have little to no control on this. Back in the day we used to be able to push you a beta firmware, however that has been released to the public since then and we don’t have that option anymore.
However, your ping spiking is definitely abnormal. Do your other devices feel those lag spikes? Does it happen when you do specific activities? How are you measuring your ping, exactly?
