I am trying to set a dns domain name under the admin page of Coda 4582.
However, I'm getting this error:
--->8---
The valid domain suffix must have only two level domain name separated with dot(.).
--->8---
The domain I am trying to set is like int.domain.com.
Can we have more than 2 level domain names?
Any reason why a domain with 2 level domain names is not a valid name?
Hi guys,
Thanks for all the replies.
@FidoNick : I put dots exactly like my example: int.domain.com
Yeah the firmware doesn't support more than one level of domain.
@KAPABLE-K : This is where you setup a default domain name for your client machines. This is not where you setup ddns.
Sorry I don't have a screenshort now. I moved on by putting the router into bridge mode. I am using my own wireless router now.
Thanks again for your replies.
Hello @emmaps,
Can you post a screenshot of the page you are referring to? If you are trying to use a different DNS other than the one that is supplied automatically by Fido then the DNS field will only accept numbers sounds like you are trying to use a DDNS.
Hey @emmaps!
Based on what you sent us, you can only have two level 2 domains and they must be separated by a dot. Did you separate them with a dot?
Unfortunately this does fall outside our scope of support as it's a functionality specific to the modem and not the Fido service. What we can suggest though is also checking with tech support at 1-888-259-3436. They may be able to offer further insights!
