Yes. The travels and overseas sim card was only for a week back in 2016.

Thanks for the response. I was indeed connected to Wifi when I checked for updates. I travelled overseas and used a local sim card after having the phone unlocked, but have not otherwise used another carrier.  

I kind of forgot about this. My S6 is from Fido, and I had it unlocked some time ago. When I try to search for software updates manually, I keep getting a msg saying the latest updates have been installed, despite still only have 6.0.1.  Any ideas?
