Three years ago when I brought a LG G2 from Hong Kong to join Fido network, the 4G LTE was not compatible.
My brother is going to bring me an unlocked LG G5 from Hong Kong soon, just wonder if the non-Canadian version LG G5 will work on Fido LTE network ? I love LG V10 more than G5 but I know it won't fit into Fido LTE network.
Thanks.

Hello AACLUB,
I believe the LG G5 from Hong Kong is the H860N. These are the band/frequency specifications listed for that version:
Processor | 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 |
---|---|
2G Network | 850/900/1800/1900 MHz |
3G Network | WCDMA 850(B5) / 900(B8) / 1700(B4) / 1900(B2) / 2100(B1) MHz TD-SCDMA 1900 / 2000 MHz |
Operation System | Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) |
SIM | Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, Dual Stand-By) |
4G Network - FDD | 700(B12, B17 & B28) / 800(B20) / 850(B5) / 900(B8) / 1700(B4) / 1800(B3) / 1900(B2) / 2100(B1) / 2600(B7) MHz |
4G Network - TDD | 2600(B38) / 1900(B39) / 2300(B40) / 2600(B41) MHz |
Judging by those specifications, that version of the G5 would have all of the compatible bands/frequencies for 2G, '3G', and LTE. You can verify the compatible bands frequencies here. There should be no issues using that phone on the network.
**edit** With regards to the LG V10, I believe the version from HK is the H961N. These are the band/frequency specifications listed for that version:
2G Network | 850/900/1800/1900MHz |
---|---|
3G Network | WCDMA:850/900/1900/2100MHz TD-SCDMA:1900/2000MHz |
4G Network - FDD | 2100(B1) / 1800(B3) / 2600(B7) / 900(B8) MHz |
4G Network - TDD | 2600(B38) / 1900(B39) / 2300(B40) / 2600(B41) MHz |
Operation System | Android™ 5.1.1 (Lollipop) |
Processor | Hexa-Core 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 |
SIM | Dual SIM |
Judging by those specifications, that version of the V10 would have all of the compatible bands/frequencies for 2G and '3G'. With regards to LTE, that version would only have one of the compatible bands/frequencies, band 7 or 2600MHz. While the phone should work on the LTE network, coverage would depend on the bands/frequencies of your surrounding towers. You can get an idea of the bands/frequencies of your area cellular towers here. You're right, compared to the G5, LTE coverage using the V10 would be limited.**
Hope this helps
Cheers
