Unlocking phones from other companies

I have a Blackberry 8830 world edition that I'd like to use but I can't because it's hardlocked to Bell, I don't use bell and I was wondering if it would be possible to have it unlocked, and how much it would be to do so

Fido won't (can't?) unlock Bell phones. You should call Bell. I think they charge $75 for unlocking. Since it is a BB, you can also find a lot of people that will do it on eBay or in a google search for your city.

Carefull, the 8830, has GSM but it only has gsm 900/1800, hence it was designed for CDMA users to Roam internationally on INTERNATIONAL GSM networks. it will not work here in canada on fido, it does not have a domestic GSM frequencies, its domestic purpose is for CDMA networks such as Bellus.
