Have this working now. Used an app from Google Play called USB Media Explorer. Tried 3 other apps this one worked. Adapters that are micro USB to type C don't seem to work for USB flash drives although they do work for charging and data transfer from the laptop. I used a Type A to Type C and it worked to get USB OTG working on the S20+
