Text message becomes voice mail notification and lost

 Apparently this has been happening to my phone over half a year or so. Many people were pissed thinking I ignored their messages. 
When I or someone try to send text to my phone, most of those texts turn into voice mail notifications, and when I try to click in and listen to the voice mail, of course there are none. 

Can someone tell me how to solve this problem? I just want to receive text msg...

Do you have Visual Voicemail by any chance? I've heard of people having such problems because of an issue with that feature, If you do I would suggest you reach out to customer service and ask if they can reset it and if it does not work then ask to be transferred to the technical department as they should be able to troubleshoot the issue.
