Samsung S8+ warranty & repair procedure

The phone will not power on even after going through soft and hard resets. The ImeI and serial nos show the factory warranty is in effect till September 2020 which is the date of termination of the 2 year contract with Fido.

The warranty shown on the Fido web site intimates a factory warranty of 1 year.

Let me give you a bit more info on this Smiley


The manufacturer's warranty last one year after the purchase of the device and covers manufacturing defects: software or hardware. If you want to use it you can bring the device to a Fido store, they will have a look at it and if needed, send it for repair.


Note that you must have the phone for less than one year and any accidental/liquid damage or third-party repair could void the warranty.

Thank you for the reply. The warranty is 1 year as stated. The 2 year mentioned came from the site based on the information I had provided. This turns out to be the contract duration in lieu of the manufacturer's warranty. The repair was done yesterday by changing the motherboard.
