Phone was in stock, but after placing order, its backordered

I have placed an order for a phone and new number too. The phone was supposed to be delivered within 5 days. But there was no communication on order details. After multiple follow ups, got the order number but was told it is back ordered and they don't know when it would arrive. When there is no atock why let the order be placed? There is no assurance if I ever would get my order and if so in what time. Really disappointed. Have been suggesting Fido to friends but now have to step back.
