IPhone 7 doesn't ring while I am driving

Hi All,

My husband and I have both IPhone 7's.

My question is why does his phone not make any sound when we is getting a call or a text message while he is driving.

I have checked his settings against mine as I am alerted to calls or texts while I am driving and I can't see where things are different between our two phones.

Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi 67II.

You have the same iPhone but i think u don't have the same iOs version.

There a functionality in last iOs, to mute sounds when driving. You can see it in paramaters of the Device.

  Welcome to the community!

  Are your phones using Apple CarPlay? Are they connected to your vehicles? I know when my phone (android) is connected to my car via bluetooth, my phone won't ring or sound when messages are received. However, if I switch my car audio to bluetooth input, call rings and message notifications are heard over the car's speakers. I imagine it would be a similar situation if the phone was connected via USB cable. Is it possible your husband's phone is connected to the car while yours is not?

  In addition, if your husband's phone is using Apple CarPlay, it might have Do not Disturb enabled (see here).
