I recently purchased LG Xenon cellphone advertised (brand new) through Bell. I am a Fido subscriber. I want my phone set up so I could download stuff and access the my email. I looked online and got information, but unsure if I did everything correct. I indicated below that I did, please let me know if I did all correctly. If not tell me the correct information.
Connection-->Access Points-->New Profile
Connection Title: The Internet
Authentication: Medium
Username: fido
Password: fido
APN: internet.fido.ca
Connection-->Internet Profiles-->New Profile
Profile Name: The Internet
Use Proxy: off
Access Point: The Internet
Text Message-->Email Gateway
What is the number for it???
I tried going into Preferred Network, but it indicated it isn't available. What gives? When I go into the internet I keep getting a message that it can't find the host. When I go into email, it would say "Retrieving terms of use" and the bar goes halfway and does nothing. Any advise would be helpful.

Hey everyone!
Although this thread is quite old, I'd like to add a little update since I came across it. If you wish to use an unlocked phone over our network, I strongly advise you to click here. It will bring you to our webpage where all of our settings are detailed. It will also include path to follow in your menu depending on your device.
Hope it helps!

I have a question about the link for similar questions to mine. There are a few things I haven't found that answered my question.
For APN1:
I filled out all the information indicated.
APN Type: default
all others blank
On the LG Xenon it does mention that part (APN type) and doesn't indicate anything else other than name, APN address, username, and password.
For APN2:
APN: mms.fido.ca
Do I put that in the proxy address section?
It doesn't indicate
MMSC
APN type
MCC
MNC
MMS proxy--> only proxy port number
On the site it says to put 205.151.011.013 (On the phone it doesn't let me put dots between numbers )

These are the APN's from my Fido Xenon. For "<blank>" it is blank; nothing is in the field. To the best of my knowledge, only the ones titled "Fido WAP" and "Fido MMS" are needed for browsing and MMS on the Xenon.
APN1:
Connection Title: Fido WAP
Authentication: No Auth
APN: wap.fido.ca
APN2:
Connection Title: Fido MMS
Authentication: Medium
Username: <blank>
Password: <blank>
APN: mms.fido.ca
APN3:
Connection Title: Fido Internet
Authentication: Medium
Username: <blank>
Password: <blank>
APN: internet.fido.ca
The proxy addresses are set in Internet Profiles. I'll write them out here just in case. Please keep in mind you have to have the APN's before you are able to select them under Access Point in Internet Profiles.
Internet Profile 1:
Profile Name: Fido WAP
Use Proxy: On
Proxy Address: 205.151.011.011
Proxy Port Number: 80
Access Point: Fido WAP
Internet Profile 2:
Profile Name: Fido MMS
Use Proxy: On
Proxy Address: 205.151.011.013
Proxy Port Number: 80
Access Point: Fido MMS
Internet Profile 3:
Profile Name: Fido Internet
Use Proxy: On
Proxy Address: 205.151.011.011
Proxy Port Number: 80
Access Point: Fido Internet
Internet Profile 4:
Profile Name: Internet Tethering
Use Proxy: On
Proxy Address: 0.0.0.0
Proxy Port Number: <blank>
Access Point: None
To get MMS working, there is one more setting. This one is located in Main Menu > Messages > Message Settings > Multimedia Message > Message Centre. There is only one setting.
Name: Fido MMS
MMSC URL: http://mms.fido.ca/
Internet Profile: Fido MMS

I have a problem with this part you indicated:
Internet Profile 4:
Profile Name: Internet Tethering
Use Proxy: On
Proxy Address: 0.0.0.0
Proxy Port Number: <blank>
Access Point: None
When I put Proxy Port Number, it gives me the message "Proxy Port is empty" and will not let me save.
What suggestions do you have to make this part work.
