I just bought a Blackberry Curve and am going to the U.S. for a few days. I DO NOT want to accidentally get caught roaming, but, if possible, I would still like to use the BB for wi-fi connections, when I can find them. Is there any way to set this up, so that I do not accidentially make a call or use data when roaming outside of Canada? Furthermore, if there is a way, and, it is a HotSpot Login (i.e. Starbucks), that requires you to access the Internet to log in (accept their terms, etc.), will it allow me to get to that landing page?

Solved! Go to Solution.
From the "Connections" menu, go to "Mobile Network Options". There's an option to switch Data ON/OFF and also to switch data off only when Roaming.
If you have "Data Services" ON, but "While Roaming" OFF, then you should still be able to use the browser over Wifi without being charged. But call Fido to be sure.
And yes you should be able to use Hotspots too. I did at the airport with no problems on my Curve.
