Can I unlock a new phone myself without going to the store?

Hey there!

I recently got a new cellphone as a gift but when I exchanged my SIM Card with the new one, it does not seem to recognise the signal. So do I really need to go down to the store to unlock the new phone or is there any way I can do that myself?

Hello Fido1743,

The phone would have to be either unlocked by the service provider from which it was bought or by a Third Party.

Some phone can also be unlocked by its user, but I would not have any information about this. I would invite you to look up the information on Google with your handset model to see if it is something possible for you to do.
