Hello,

I have just switched over to fido.  I was told by the fido phone rep that the BB8520 would suit me as I explained I did not want to purchase a data plan but wanted to be able to access wifi networks (at home and out and about).  I received the BB last Thursday, and cannot access the wifi network to browse the internet, even though it clearly shows a connection.  (I'm currently at home and in a wifi enabled area)

I phoned Fido and the technical rep stated that he could not help me with this issue and said I would find my answer here in the technical community.

Thank you Paolo for your suggestion, but that was the first thing I did.

Here's an update for anyone who is interested:

The problem in the end had to do with my D Link wireless router.  I called D Link and they suggested performing a hard reset on the router itself.  Everything worked after I did that.

if your laptop wont connect to your d-link router, then your phone wont connect too.  yeah a reset of your router is something people dont think about doing, they just assume it works it work.
