I ordered a note 9 online on Dec 31st at around 6pm est. It's been January 3rd now and there's no email so far confirming that order has been shipped. I did get an email saying they have changed my plan and that they will be shipping my phone but nothing more.
How long does it take before I get an update.

You will get the email confirmation once the phone has been shipped.
Seeing as though you made the order at 6pm on new years even would explain the delay as Fido and shipping companies would have different work schedules over the holiday period.
Did you get your phone? If so how long was your wait. I have been waiting over a week and have no indication of how long it will be.

As soon as your phone is shipped, you will get a notification by email with the tracking number. This will let you know that your phone is on the way.
