I returned from a vacation to see an additional $200 charged to our account. The response from chat support stated that calls werd made and data was used after roaming into non supprted areas in the Mediterranean . I know that I received text messages saying I was out of roaming territory. While on board our cruise the support said I madd a 8 minute phone call to 514******* on Oct 5. The charge $32 . I asked why $32 when the chatge per minute was $3 per minute. I know that ai texted my sons to tell thrm thag my mother passed away on Oct. 5th but I did do only on Oct. 6th
Very sad thaf a long time customer who pays close to $2000 per year and has been a customer for almost 5 years will get milked for use of their phone in such a time. We'll cerrainly consider moving over to Kuudo as my son and friend have ben suggesting for quite some time.

Access to services while on cruise ships is not covered by Fido Roam and is considered a premium destination.

Wireless Maritime Services (cruise ships) offer roaming services in specialised areas not covered by traditional cellular service.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. It is a very emotional time, and when you are half a world away and on an ocean-going ship nowhere close to shore (or an airport to go home) it only makes it more difficult. Terms of service and the financial consequences of using the only communication device you have with your family go right out the door.

Yes there are terms of service, yes there are extra charges especially when you are outside the country, and very possibly in International waters. Hopefully there is a FIDO Customer Care Rep who will work with you to mitigate the charges on compassionate grounds.
