Voicemail for deaf customer

I am a deaf person on Fido plan. I'm sorry I went with Fido now because their customer service is awful.  I have tried to connect to online agent, because it's the only way Fido gives you to contact them at all, and each time I have given up after waiting more than 30 minutes. I wanted to get Voicemail turned off because I'm deaf and it's just an annoyance. Ideally, inside a paid plan, I'd like to see the option to turn mailbox off  and/or for deaf people, a recorded message something like "you have reached a deaf persons number, please hang up and text message them, Thank you, Goodby" I hate having to wait until a hearing friend comes around and can listen to the voicemails with are junk ads and garbage we never wanted to hear in the first place.  As for contacting Fido Service.... good luck!

Thank you for bringing up your concerns in regards to the voicemail and the accessibility. 


If you want, you do have the option to not have a voicemail at all. You can request this from customer service.


However, we do also offer add-ons for Visual Voicemail or Voicemail to Text features, which would allow you to receive a transcription of the voicemail messages you receive.

To offset the cost of these add-ons, you could also inquire about our accessibility discount, if you don't already benefit from it.
