Here’s a list of frequently asked questions we put together for you:

What is the voicemail number?

Regular voicemail: +1 416 821-6549 or +1 647 839-9169

Visual voicemail for iPhones : +1 647 839-6178 or  +1 647-839-9169

Don’t worry about the area code being different than your own; these numbers apply to all Fido customers across Canada.

How do I register my voicemail number in my phone?

If you bought your phone from Fido, your voicemail number is already registered on your phone and you don’t need to change anything.

If you didn’t buy your phone from Fido, proceed as follows:

  • iPhone: Dial *5005*86*+16478396178# OR *5005*86*+16478399169# (may not work on all iPhone models).

This is for customers without Visual Voicemail:

  • Android: Tap on the Phone app then options on the top right (3 dots) > Settings > Voicemail > Voicemail Number and input +14168216549 or +16478399169 (instructions may vary depending on your OS/model)
  • Wireless Home Phone: Dial *983*866*(Voicemail Retrieval Number)# from the home phone handset.
  • Other Phones: instructions may vary, so it’s best you check out the manufacturer’s user guide to program your voicemail.

What is my access code?

You are prompted to choose your own code when you first access your voicemail.

I forgot my access code

No problem, follow these easy steps to reset it.

How do I listen to my messages?

You have two ways of going about that:

From your Fido phone:

  • Press and hold the "1" key on your phone for a few seconds to access your Voice Messaging service.
  • Enter your access code when prompted.
  • Follow the instructions to listen to your messages.

From any other phone:

  • Call your own Fido phone number.
  • Press the "#" key during your greeting message.
  • Enter your access code when prompted.
  • Follow the instructions to listen to your messages

Why do my calls go straight to voicemail?

Calls are automatically forwarded to voicemail when your phone is off, on airplane mode, Do Not Disturb mode, or when you’re outside of the coverage area (no service).

How do I bypass the voice signature recording during the setup?

It’s unfortunately not possible; that step can no longer be skipped. Also, once you record the voice signature, it can’t be deleted afterwards, but it can be modified.
