Voice sounds muffled

This has been occurring with different phones and headsets, so I believe it's something with Fido's line. 

Not everyone will complain, but 3 out of four people will say my voice sounds muffled, throughout the time I had 3 different phones: iPhone 6, iPhone X and iPhone 11 Pro. I also tried using Apple AirPods, AirPods Pro, plantronics 5200. 

Anyone experiencing this out there?

Can you tell us when the problem started?

Have you tried using a phone other than iPhones to test this?

Also, were all the iPhones using the same IOS and was it the latest version?
