Upgrading a BYOP plan to Fido Payment Program plan

I'm currently on a BYOP plan but I have an offer to upgrade to a 20GB/$50 month Fido Payment Program plan. Can I upgrade to this plan without actually purchasing a new device? I'd like to keep using my current unlocked phone.

It should be possible unless the plan is specific to getting a new device all you would have to do is change the plan and not select a new device.
