Why is that as somebody who is authorized on an account am I not able to pick up a reservation for a phone? I'm able to walk in and purchase a BRAND NEW phone, which is in stock, or upgrade and make any changes to my account, but I can't pick up a reserved phone unless I am the primary account holder? Does this make sense?

It's to prevent fraud. Fido can let a level 1 user get any other phone, because the chances of fraud are small, but for an iphone 6 with such a huge demand, fido doesn't want to take any risks.
And I mean it was written in red during the reservation...
