Spoofing

Someone has been spoofing my phone number and I’m getting several return calls a day saying I called them. All seem to start after lunch. 
Not like it wasn’t bad enough with the scam calls stating I’ve won a trip.  Help me stop the **bleep** !!!!!!! 
Do I change my number or cell provider. ???

I think by now everyone is fed-up with these number spoofing.

Unfortunately changing your number or provider will not solve this problem, as the scammers/fraudster can spoof any number they want. 

Fortunately the CRTC is asking the providers to implement a new technology which is a caller ID authentication and verification measure known as STIR/SHAKEN (Secure Telephony Identity Revisited / Signature-based Handling of Asserted Information Using Tokens). 

This new measure should be implemented by September 2020.
