I just got the news of my new phone shipping today. It tells me I need to provide a verbal signature when I sign for it, what does a verbal signature mean? I don't know this.

Due to COVID, some shipping companies introduced verbal signatures to reduce the contact risk.

Verbal Signature – the customer will verbally authorize their signature by simply stating their name which will then be recorded on the portable data terminal (PDT) by the delivery agent. There will be no requirement to exchange the PDT with the customer.
