I received a text today from the number 1-438-700-7498. The text said my name, and the composer presented himself as an employee of the Plaza Côte-des-Neiges branch. The purpose of the text is to tell me I am eligible for an update, and there is a link to the branch that looks nothing like a Fido link, so I didn't click on it. Just wanted to report it as it looks highly suspicious. Just find it a little freaky they know my name and that I am a Fido customer.

Hey @Nadege11 ,
Thank you for sharing this info, we'll have a look on our side.
Don't hesitate to give a call to the Plaza Côte-des-Neiges branch directly at 514-738-9898 to confirm.
Would you also be able to send us a screen capture of the text or the link in question?

I received a similar text message a few days ago, the number also started with 1-438-700, but the last 4 digits were different. The writer/sender of the text message said that they were from a Fido kiosk store in a nearby shopping mall. I had been to that Fido kiosk a couple of weeks earlier to buy a new SIM card for a new phone I was going to be using. The text message said that I was eligible for a phone upgrade, and that they were there to help me choose one...The email link presented was https://www.fido.ca/consumer/unsubscribe/
I've assumed that this was a legitimate message from a Fido representative, though I did not respond to it, nor do I have any immediate interest to upgrade my phone.
