This is absolutely ridiculous. You should provide written notification via mail or email—not hide it in the bill, especially when there’s an automatic payment option. I am opening a case and filing a complaint against Fido. This is clearly a case of customer exploitation

We definitely don't want you to feel this way, @mahann !

Our customers' monthly bills are the documents that are always guaranteed to get to them every month. Therefore, we include a notice of the increase on the first page of the bill before the increase takes place.

They can then decide if they wish to keep this plan or change it.

Should you have any questions or concerns in regards to your account and/or a recent increase, feel free to contact us so we can look into it with you. Smiley

It is anyways hidden at the bottom below the fold with a title "You have a new message". I had to go looking for this page. This is not a page you deliberately stumble upon. I'll definitely switch my providers whenever I see a better deal.

You never send it in an email. Attach it as a PDF in the email you send. All it has is a link to login to Fido. I am pretty sure that this is deliberate by your management team. In 2025, this shouldn't be hard unless there is a deliberate attempt to make it inconvinient for your customers.

Hello Kjjluli878879,

Welcome to the community!

I'm sorry, but it's not a deliberate attempt to inconvenience their customers. The reason an actual PDF of your bill is not provided in the bill notification email is that email is inherently not secure (see here, here, here, etc). Your bill would include your account number, address, phone number etc, all of which could be used to compromise your account. Requiring customers to log into their accounts to retrieve the actual bill details is for customers' privacy and security.

Other institutions also do not include actual PDFs of bills in their emails. None of my credit card monthly statement notification emails include PDFs of the actual bills either. I'm not aware of any credit card companies which include the actual PDF in their monthly statement notifications.

I understand some institutions might use password-protected PDFs. However, using those types of PDFs have their own issues as well.

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers

Not fair to customer to increase the bill without explanation,  at least we can change to other service providers if required. Fido shall send a text message individually but not announce online.

Hey @503147226

Have you had a chance to view the details of that bill? You should be able to do so via your My Account --> My Bill. From your Bill Overview, you should be able to Save and/or Print a PDF copy of your bill.

That said, we will notify you of bill increases at least 30 days before the increase occurs. The information will typically appear within the "Monthly Charges" section of your bill, along with a notification about the change.

I hope that helps!

If your plan was affected by a rate increase, you'll be able to see the bill notification on the previous invoice at the bottom of the page where your plan's fee is displayed.

Hello Puu,

  Welcome to the community!

Sorry to hear your plan cost increased unexpectedly. Generally, Fido informs customers of account related information (ie plan cost increases) on your bill. They would normally notify customers a couple of months prior to the actual increase.

I understand people like the notion that prices would never increase. Unfortunately, however, the cost of everything increases. However, as you note, the cost of your plan had not changed in years. At some point, those added costs would eventually increase the operating costs for companies. I don't think it's feasible for any business to not occasionally adjust their service/plan prices in response to rising operating costs.

That said, have you had a chance to view the details of that bill? You should be able to do so via your My Account --> My Bill. From your Bill Overview, you should be able to Save and/or Print a PDF copy of your bill. Alternatively, you should also be able to view the details online. Is it possible there are additional charges on your bill?

You should note the forums are community-driven and not intended as a venue for customer services. We do not have access to customers' accounts. If you would like to discuss your matter, you would need to contact customer service for assistance. In addition, they can also be contacted via Live Chat, Facebook, or Twitter. Those methods can be accessed via the contact page posted above.

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers

indeed I did review all my old bills and found they haven't increasing longer than I thought. My original plan was actually $50 now it's $57.50 .  There's been a few increases. I "my account" regularly for managing usage and paying my bills on time

  • I have never been notified if increases. Time to shop around but appreciate your thoughts.
