Overpayment refund

Last week I requested a refund for an overpayment, and the support person did not mention at all that it would be sent through the mail, I was specifically told that it would be sent to the mode of payment, now that the 3-5 business days that they stated is here, I contacted support to follow up on it, now that say that it will take 3-4 weeks for the cheque to be sent to my address, do they not know there own policies or just outright lie to costumers?

Hey @Spencerstewart, Alex here, welcome to the community!

It seems like there might have been a misunderstanding when you spoke with our customer service.

To clarify, a refund can be made to the original method of payment, depending of how the payment was made.

If a payment was made with a credit card (including Visa Debit / Debit Mastercard), we can refund it directly to the credit card. However, a payment made directly from your bank (usually done with online banking, but not only) cannot be refunded directly into your bank account. You either need to call the number at the back of your debit card to cancel the payment or a check can be sent.

I hope this clarifies and make sure to get in touch with our customer service again if you need any more help with this situation.

We can take a look. we remain available via our channels at fido.ca/contact/mobile/customer-service

I paid through the app, using my debit card, so then by that logic, should it have gotten refunded directly to the mode of payment?

Hi @Spencerstewart , sorry you had confusing information given to you. The accurate answer is that a cheque will be mailed to your billing address.
