Out of town for more than 8 months

Hello!

I'm leaving Canada for more than 8 months and I don't really know what I can do to keep my phone number without paying for my whole package. What are my options?

If you are on a contract unfortunately there is noting you can do but pay the full amount every month. 

If you are not on a contract you can have a temporary suspension from 2 to 4 months and it can only be done once every 12 months and its $7/month charge.

Just to add to what KAPABLE-K wrote, if all you want is just to keep the number, you can switch over to prepaid temporarily and then switch back to monthly when you return. Keep in mind though that you'll have to choose a plan that's available on the market when you come back. Also, if you're on agreement, you'll have to pay the balance of you phone to switch over.
