So sorry if this seems silly, i finally had a quiet moment to look at things today regarding my new contract. Is it the normal to be nailed with a monthly payment (like back in the day when you paid month to month) while being locked into a 2 year contract.

Hello Tricia13,

  Welcome to the community!

Back in the day, Fido used to offer subsidised plans for the purchase of devices. That is, part of the cost of the device was incorporated into the monthly plans for services. So a Large plan contained more subsidy than a Medium plan, etc. For any given billing cycle, you would be charged the monthly fee for the upcoming cycle as well as any overages from your previous cycle.

Fido recently switched to a financed model for the purchase of devices -- Fido's Payment Program. That is, the cost of devices is separate from the monthly cost for services. So in addition to the monthly charges for your plan, there will also be monthly device charges (see here).

Is that the monthly payment to which you refer?

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers

Hello @tricia13,

Can you give us some more details on what monthly fee are you referring to?
