Late payment fee

so I checked my bills and the payment charge is 1.52 dollars. I'll pay it this time but the bill was late didnt show up until today. I checked on novembember 26 and 27 and it said zero until today. i set up automatic credit card payment and it still charged me. what is this?

Welcome to the Community

When you register for pre-authorized payments during the month, they only start after your billing cycle ends.  This means that, for the month during which you set up your pre-authorized payments, you need to make a manual payment.

ok i check the automatic payment started today for some reason. but that bill was still late
